Indonesia Field Station

Introduction of Field Station

The Makassar Field Station was established on the 9th September, 2003, on the campus of Hasanuddin University (UNHAS), as part of the 21st Century COE program.
It was called MKS-UNHAS Joint Laboratory and expected to be a support base for research activities. The Joint Laboratry has provided multi-functional facilities to the researchers and students of both Kyoto University and Hasanuddin University, as well as to the researchers of other institutions, who conduct research in Sulawesi and the eastern part of Indonesia.
Now, the MKS-UNHAS Joint Laboratory is called Makassar Field Station (“MFS") and has an important role and function as a resourceful information center on the eastern part of Indonesia for promoting Sulawesi Area Studies.

Counter Part/Facilities/Activities

Hasanuddin University is a national university in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. It was established on the 11th June, 1956. Makassar Field Station is supported strongly from the faculty members of Hasanuddin University, especially the alumni of Kyoto University. And, until now...detail>>
