Myanmar Field Station

Introduction of Field Station

The Myanmar field station is located at Yezin Agricultural University, Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation and supports master students and researchers who conduct their research project in Dry zone area of Myanmar. Market economy and modernization influence the livelihood of rural people. Rural life and society have been rapidly changed. Traditional life style needs to change. Rural people, especially small farmers, are facing difficulties in adapting themselves into the new socio-economic environment. On the basis of MOU between YAU and CSEAS, Kyoto University, the joint study project namely “Integrated Study on Agricultural and Rural Development in Central Dry Zone, Myanmar” is proposed with the support of field station program of GCOE, CSEAS, Kyoto University. The project highlights to identify the problems and perspectives of agriculture and rural development through integrated studies by field work methodology.
